Bringing Linux to the Masses
Exactly 2 hours and 47 minutes ago, my mom wanted to print something quickly from our HP Photosmart c3100 printer. So she hooked up her Vaio, but it started complaining about drivers. She started to panic, and asked me for help. I calmed her down, and navigated to the HP site to find the printer’s [...]
Last week, the IT department had an epiphany, they decided to replace Mcafee Anti-Virus with Norton on all employees computers. Since I work in a company technologically retarded, the announcement almost went unnoticed with minimal opposition from all the departments. Only a handful (actually one besides me) didn’t like the decision. We discussed it a [...]
Ya well most tech savvy people already know this, after all it’s common knowledge. But it’s nice to see the difference visually, and would probably explain the difference to the less technically endowed amongst us, in more ways than one!
While surfing the tubes, I stumbled onto this picture. Apparently some dude tried to scan his Ubuntu using the xponlinescanner utility. Lo and behold, some 3 XP viruses pwned his Ubuntu (what a shame). He better watch out and resolve the Spyware.IEMonstor.b virus, it’s critical! Ya right, LOLZ!
Well not really, it’s just a funny little ad by techradar I found in the Linux Format Special Edition “CODE IT!”

1-Because it comes “free” with your laptop and you might as well use it. Just like that Britney Spears single that was bundled with your CD player.
2-Money is no object to you. No problem just fork out $500, for 10% of the features you actually need. After all you can’t put a label on “quality”
3-Installing [...]
I really don’t know whats the deal here, but this is totally new to me. And trust me he doesn’t have OS X dual-booted, the guy wouldn’t even know how to start dual-booting Vista and Mac. Apparently this guy is just a fan of whatever is new out there…
In Windows:
In Linux:
Paints you a pretty picture eh?
Edit: The comparison would hold true even with Apple, just fire up the terminal on your OSX!
Now I am no MS fan, but I understand their strategy of simplifying how things are done on their OS’es. But isn’t this just idiotic?
When going to Add or Remove Programs in the control panel, you will find small links on the right of the listed programs describing the frequency of use of each program. [...]
Royal HeHe2-ness is a world where free software is valued, nay sought for!! While proprietary software is banished, degraded and ridiculed till the end of times.
